Our classroom artwork originated from Aboriginal Culture and CARING FOR COUNTRY. Our animals, like the Aboriginal people, are not only unique to the country, they REPRESENT the country, and the longer we harm them, the more we’ll lose them, their well being and the heritage. We MUST protect our animals! Within the year, during Summer seasons we have lightning strikes which causes major devastating bushfires. During Winter seasons we have heavy rainfalls which cause major floods, but us humans are also a big contribution to these dying animals.
We got our inspiration from looking at Aboriginal Culture and Australian native animals. The reason we put a matchbox under the fire was to represent all of the careless people that harm our precious environment. But then there’s flooding. Although floods are natural, they are still a big threat to our animals. On our artwork, the red and blue resemble the bushfires and floods causing destruction and chaos and death. The yellow resembles the lightning strikes, more chaos, and starting more fires. The white and orange resemble the safe land where the few lucky animals are hiding and manage to survive. Our artwork is based on harming animals because we need to spread awareness that our animals are dying because of us. We need to protect our country and care for once!!! Stop the pain and suffering!!!!

Reconciliation means …the strengthening of relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders peoples and non-Indigenous peoples. Reconciliation is saying Sorry and forgiving people for what we have done to them in the past. Reconciliation is Bringing People Together and saying sorry, restoring friendly relationships.
