The river that I have drawn represents my culture ‘Kamilaroi’. The river running through the hands signifies out responsibility to look after mother nature and care for her in any way. The dots in the water are all of the bad racist words that white man and ladies have said to the Aboriginal people. “You’re Australian’s just like us and now we have to get along with each other, but please, learn our history”. My artwork is about the 2020 theme caring for country as it represents at5i and other Australians coming together to care for our land. In my painting I have created rocks in the background with an aboriginal hand print that signifies where my people came from.
