Maran-dhi means because of ancestors in my peoples language from Yuwalaaraay land. The theme learning from legacy means to me that our ancestors passed down all their knowledge and traditions to help us be strong Aboriginal people and care for country. My artwork shows that my people have worked hard to keep culture alive and to give us young Aboriginal people many opportunities to succeed. My artwork shows that when you find the doors they left for us you will find culture, and finding culture will give our lives magical colours and joy.

Reconciliation means…

Reconciliation is about acknowledging the mistakes that have been made in this country for Aboriginal people and promising to stand up and fix those mistakes.
