My artwork is about self awareness of whose land I am on and being a runner I have a lot of people to look up to. I’ve included Rob de Castella, Cathy Freeman and Mabo because they have all impacted my life greatly and shows the connection of Australians and Indigenous Australians. I have put the Southern Cross and the Milky Way as the sky because it’s always been there and it represents Australia as a whole. We are all under the same sky and can see those features in the sky.
Reconciliation means…
A strong connection between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people, being able to have our First Nations peoples recognised and being proud to be on Indigenous land.
